All my life I had this urge to create, whether it was building cities with my food to drawing made up comic book characters in my note book. I also had this drive to bring to light my thoughts through art. As I was getting older and more aware of composition I started understanding why color, balance, and restraint really took me in a path that I grew to love. All throughout high school and college I made it a point to take as many art classes as I can to further my knowledge and understanding of how art can by manipulated with the understanding of its theory. I would create album covers for bands, t-shirts for friends, skateboard graphics and so on. I now can say I am an award winning mixed digital media artist, with over 30 years’ experience exploring the relationship between pop culture and fine art. Having engaged subjects as diverse as Afro-American portraits, historic architecture, to 80s nostalgia; I arrange them into conceptually layered pieces. With an eclectic array of subject matter and techniques my methodology is consistent. I draw inspiration from bold, bright colors, reminiscent of 80s culture, with a hint of the hip-hop and punk rock state of mind.
